Hossein Nayeri, a convicted criminal, rose to prominence in 2016 after filming his escape from the Orange County Jail. Using a contraband cellphone, he had filmed the daring prison break.
While on the run, Hossein and his co-conspirators — Jonathan Tieu and Bac Duong — approached and tortured Michael and Mary Barnes, owners of a marijuana dispensary in Newport Beach, California.
