Florine Mark, a well-known entrepreneur in metro Detroit and the former CEO and president of The Weight Watchers Group, passed away, according to The Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield.

Mark is ninety years old. There was no explanation given. A few days before she passed away, she was interviewed by WXYZ regarding her grandkids and great-grandchildren who lived in Israel.

Her grandson is an Israeli Defense Forces reserve officer whose unit was activated after the Hamas attack. WXYZ reports that Mark recently visited Israel to commemorate his nuptials.

Mark’s close friend Linda Solomon said that “her heart was breaking for everyone.”

Solomon remarked,

“She was the most amazing woman, respected by everyone for her amazing generosity and philanthropy, and for lifting up other women.” She was always there to support each of us as we pursued our goals.

Mark participated in several charity endeavors, such as those run by the Detroit Institute for Children, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, and Women of Tomorrow.
