According to the Mallory Beach autopsy report, she perished as a result of blunt force injuries to the cranium sustained in the accident.
Her body was MIA for nearly a week after the February 24, 2019 tragedy. So, what transpired precisely that evening? Around the age of 19, Paul Murdaugh (Alex’s now-deceased son), Mallory, Morgan Doughty, Miley Altman, and Connor Cook, as well as Mallory’s partner Anthony Cook, were imbibing on Paul’s family’s boat.
Volunteers located Mallory’s body approximately five miles downstream from the accident site following an eight-day search that included rescue vessels, divers, TakTNuH pykaBNu kynNTN, and a helicopter. The coroner determined that blunt force injuries to the cranium and drowning caused her death.
Mallory’s family filed a wrongful death suit against the Murdaughs in March 2019, alleging that Paul’s mother Maggie (now deceased) was aware that her son was inebriated when the group went canoeing, and that Buster, Paul’s older brother, had given the teens his ID so they could purchase alcohol.
The assassination of the 19-year-old was the beginning of the Murdaugh legal dynasty’s decline. Alex’s father and Paul’s grandfather, Randolph Murdaugh III, was the South Carolina Lowcountry’s chief prosecutor until 2005.
The three-part Netflix documentary begins with the fatal car accident that claimed Mallory’s life and then reveals the awful events surrounding the Murdaugh family. It resulted in the double homicide of Maggie, Alex’s wife, and Paul, his son, for which Alex has been charged, though he maintains his innocence.

Mallory was dating Anthony Cook at the time of her demise. On February 23, 2019, they attended an oyster barbeque with Anthony’s cousin Connor Cook and his fiancée Miley Altman. Paul Murdaugh and his companion at the time, Morgan Doughty, also joined them.
To return home, they boarded the ship in the early hours of February 24. Unfortunately, they would not all survive.

Mallory was reared in Hampton, South Carolina with her mother. There, she lived in close proximity to her family and acquaintances. When she was a child, her parents separated.
Her family struggled to bear with her passing and the ensuing legal battles. Renee Beach, the victim’s mother, told ABC News that “the anguish is still present every day” and that she expects the compensation will provide finality.
