Pavel Antov, a well-known sausage tycoon, was recently discovered dead at Rayagada’s Hotel Sai International. The incident happened during a trip to celebrate his 66th birthday.
He died after falling from a third-story window. According to a police officer, he may have committed suicide because he was depressed after his friend Vladimir Bidenov died. Bidenov was discovered dead at the same hotel last week.
There has been speculation that Pavel was assassinated because other Russian businesspeople who have previously criticized Vladimir Putin have died in a similar manner. The matter is being investigated from a variety of angles, including the possibility that he fell from the rooftop by accident.

Pavel Antov was the founder of the meat company Vladimir Standard and a leading producer of meat sausages in Russia. The company was established in 2019. According to Forbes 2019, he is Russia’s wealthiest public official, with a net worth of around £130 million.
Antov was a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region. He was the chairman of the Legislative Assembly’s Committee on Agrarian Policy, Nature Management, and Ecology in the Vladimir region.
After a Russian missile attack on a residential neighborhood in Kyiv injured a seven-year-old child, and her mother, and killed her father, he took to social media to protest the Russian-Ukraine war. A crane is said to have rescued the mother from beneath the rubble. He described the experience as “terrifying.” The statement was shared on WhatsApp, but it was met with criticism, and Antov eventually deleted the post.
Vladimir Bidenov died from a heart attack on Antov’s birthday
Vladimir Bidenov was discovered dead at the same hotel two days before Pavel Antov’s death. On December 21, he checked into the hotel and was discovered in his room, surrounded by wine bottles. He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead. When Russian officials granted him permission, he was cremated. According to area police commander Rajesh Pandit, Bidenov may have died as a result of excessive drinking or a drug overdose.
The CID-Crime Branch has taken over the investigation of both cases after an order from Odisha DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal. Bansal stated that there was no evidence of foul play and that the death was unusual. Following these events, the Russian embassy told NDTV that they are in contact with the families of Pavel Antov and Vladimir Budanov. They went on to say,
“As far as we know, authorities do not believe these heinous crimes are criminal in nature.”
Vladimir and Pavel were two of four people who checked into the motel on December 21. The other two, according to the hotel owner, have not yet left, and the authorities are still awaiting paperwork from the Russian Embassy. Vladimir passed away at the age of 62. The tour guide, Jitendra Singh, accompanied the entire tourist group.
