Died Hugh McKean
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office reports that Hugh McKean passed away from a heart attack, also known as an acute myocardial infarction.
A forensic investigation led to the conclusion that the cause of death was natural. The damage McKean sustained while working at his home, according to Roger Hudson, Hugh’s deputy chief of staff, may have been the source of his discomfort on the left side of his body.
Hudson and Rep. Colin Larson claim that by Sunday morning when Hugh called his friend Amy Parks to his house, his discomfort had gotten worse. Parks arrived at McKean’s house and noticed an ambulance outside. There is still a need for further data on the topic. In expressing her sorrow on McKean’s departure, Larson noted that he was a close friend and would be missed. He continued,
I still find it hard to accept he’s gone. My heart also aches for Amy, his daughter and son, and Amy’s kids. He was a fantastic father who frequently spoke of his kids. I’m hoping they are conscious of this.
“The news about @hmckean is devastating. I’m thinking of everyone close to him. No matter what the topic or point of contention was, we always ended up laughing over something. We shall miss that.
In general Hugh McKean, who was born on October 27, 1967, was chosen in November 2016 to represent Colorado House District 51. Along with other measures, he backed plans to enhance Northern Colorado transportation and support the County government’s recovery efforts following a natural disaster, including alterations to legislation governing County Sheriff training requirements.
After being chosen to serve on the Loveland City Council in 2009, McKean began his stint there. He demanded accountability, fought tenaciously for his people, and worked on laws and policies that helped people and businesses in northern Colorado. Kristi Burton Brown, chairwoman of the Colorado GOP, praised him as someone who strives to make life better for all Colorado families. She stated, in a tweet,
“Every time I spoke or saw him, he had a word of encouragement and was ready to lift people,” When I think of Hugh McKean, a smile and a positive outlook on life will spring to mind.
Aiden and Hanna McKean, along with Hugh’s girlfriend Amy, are left behind.
