Nina Alu, Iggy Pop’s third wife, is his current wife. He and she have been wed since 2008. Before this, though, he lived a wild life and an even wilder love life. Before meeting Alu, Pop had gone through two divorces and two marriages.
One of these unions only lasted a short time. Iggy Pop divorced Wendy Weissberg from their previous marriage by evicting her from the home they shared. This caused him to go into a frenzy and start having brief relationships with women, some of whom were just kids.

Iggy Pop tied the knot with Weissberg in 1968. According to Ron Asheton, a bandmate from the Stooges, their wedding was “fun.” At his wedding, Asheton served as his best man, and they frequently collaborated on projects.
Weissberg was Jewish and the offspring of a wealthy businessman who ran a discount store. None of her family members went, and her parents were not aware of her marriage to Pop. Immediately after the wedding, she moved in with Pop. He was living with his bandmates at the time.
Pop’s decision to live with them started to cause problems in his marriage. She wanted to get some shut-eye at night. Pop, though, enjoyed throwing parties and making a scene.
The “Godfather of Punk” eventually concluded that one of his marriages or his career had to take a back seat. He wouldn’t keep the house quiet and would make music whenever he wanted, day or night. This served as Weissberg’s decisive factor.
Asheton also foresaw that his marriage would last only one month. Unquestionably, he was right. After two weeks of marriage, her father ordered her to leave. And she did, shortly later filing for divorce.
Weissberg claimed to be gay and that the marriage had not been consummated in court filings. The group laughed collectively and even hung the papers on the wall for an extended period.
Iggy Pop’s Relationships After His First Marriage
Pop’s wild and loose ways returned after receiving the divorce papers. Later, careless, he started dating girls. During one of the interviews for Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk, the vocalist said, “I had reclaimed my independence.”
He started exploring and found across a hamburger restaurant that was popular with kids. He found Betsy, a 14-year-old girl there, who served as the source of inspiration for the Stooges’ debut album.
Iggy Pop fell in love with her, and no matter how many women he encountered on the side, he always found his way back to her. And the musician got to meet her parents. But nothing came of the meeting.
He had a love relationship with 13-year-old Sable Starr in another incident. His age at the time was 23. He had been living in this madness for a while when he met his second wife in Suchi Asano. They got hitched in 1984 and got divorced in 1998.
Iggy Pop just took a year to fall in love again. In 1999, he got to know flight attendant Nina Alu. Their romance developed swiftly. They lived together until the year 2000. When they got married eight years later, he realized how fortunate he was to have met her.
Pop’s three marriages resulted in no offspring. He does, however, have a child. Paulette Benson, a friend of his, and had a son named Eric. However, he didn’t raise him. They are not reported to be close even though Eric worked for him in the 1980s.
