The upcoming MBC fantasy romantic drama Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol (The Season of Kkok Du) will have Kim Jung-Hyun and Im Soo-hyang as co-stars (literal translation). Kim Jung-Hyun is making a two-year comeback after his last appearance in Mr. Queen (2020). After appearing in the play Crash Landing on You, he gained notoriety. Im Soo-hyang may be seen in the currently running MBC drama Doctor Lawyer. She gained notoriety for her role in the 2018 romantic comedy My ID is Gangnam Beauty.
The story of Kkokdu, a vengeful reaper that visits Earth once every 99 years to punish humanity, will be told in The Season of Kkok Du. When he returns to society, he meets Han Gye-jeol, a medical professional with mysterious and unusual abilities, and he starts working as a visiting physician.
The following drama was written by Kang Yi-heon and Heo Jun-woo of the MBC crime drama Less Than Evil (2018). Baek Soo-chan, who previously directed Alice (2020), and Kim Ji-hoon, who previously directed Check Out The Event, will be in charge of directing the drama (2021).
In the next MBC drama, Kim Jung-Hyun and Im Soo-enigmatic Hyang’s romance will develop.
The Season of Kkokdu’s lead actors Kim Jung-Hyun and Im Soo-hyang has garnered curiosity thanks to their range of acting skills.
Kim Jung-Hyun will portray Kkokdu/Do Jin-woo. God reprimanded him for his transgressions and appointed him as the underworld’s shaman. He inhabits the body of Do Jin-woo, a human who looks like him, and cleans up human waste while guiding the dead to the afterlife. It will be fascinating to see if Kkokdu can escape his curse, even though its origin is unknown.
Han Gye-jewel, a physician who graduated from the nation’s worst medical school, will be portrayed by Im Soo-hyang. She has no other family members outside her younger brother now that her mother has passed away. Until Do Jin-woo enters her life, she starts to feel alone because people only acknowledge doctors from prestigious schools, looking down on her.
The two lead actors’ presence caught the attention of the production team as well. They declared:

The rest of the cast has not yet been revealed by the production team, and neither has the release date. Rumor has it that the show is currently being filmed.
