The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on December 2, 2022, in the Southeast 1700 block of W Street.
Around 8:20, members of the Seventh District arrived at the designated spot for the gunfire report. The crew arrived and found an adult female victim inside a car with what looked to be a gunshot wound.
When D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived and saw no signs of life, they decided to leave the victim at the scene until they could transport him to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Fajr Vallejos, 30, was allegedly found in a car in the 1700 block of W Street S.E. at roughly 8:20 p.m., according to the police. According to her relatives, she just lived a few blocks away.
The search for the gunman is still going on, a law enforcement source informed News4 after Fajr was found shot to death in a car with her unharmed children on Friday night in Anacostia.

Family members informed News4 that Vallejos’ children, who were in the backseat and were 8 and 5 years old, witnessed her murder.
Children from Fajr Vallejos witnessed Members of her Murder Family said that the eight and five-year-old Vallejos children were in the car and saw their parents’ murders.
Jose Issac Vallejos, Fajr’s husband, claimed that the fact that their children were with her made matters worse. He revealed that their youngster allegedly said he watched fireworks and then saw his mother die.
Family members claim that Vallejos was shot in the drive-by when she was returning home after picking up her kids from her parents’ house. She was injured in a shooting and a vehicle accident.

The sole consolation, according to the victim’s old friend Alya Ahmed, is that her children were uninjured. Ahmed described Vallejos as dedicated, kind, generous, compassionate, and contagious with a grin.

Police launched a homicide investigation after a woman was pronounced dead on Friday night following a gunshot in Southeast D.C.
A shooting was reported in the 1700 block of W Street Southeast at roughly 8:15 p.m., prompting the call for investigators. When police came, they found a Vallejos who had been shot and was not breathing. She was transferred to a neighboring hospital after being pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Police, there isn’t a suspect lookout at the moment, and no one has been detained. Investigations into the issue continue.
Police are looking for a suspect and have a $25,000 reward available. As that inquiry proceeds, her heartbroken family members have a message for the public.
Ahmed has urged anyone with knowledge to come forward and provide it to the police. He also urges her to share anonymously or in any other way that may be feasible because she cannot find peace until she is buried.
