Emilija Baranac, who is most known for her role as Gen in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film series, will star in the upcoming Netflix comedy-drama Fakes.
Baranac will portray Zoe Christensen, a seventeen-year-old girl who, together with her closest friend Rebecca Li, stumbles into a flourishing fake ID business. It flourishes until federal agents come, at which point their entire scheme implodes in their faces.
The series will premiere on Netflix on September 2, 2022, at 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The following describes forgeries:
“Fakes is the story of two teenage best friends who unknowingly build one of North America’s largest fake ID empires.”
David Turko directs the program, with executive producers Simon Barry, Stephen Hegyes, Lilly Burns, Tony Hernandez, and Tabia Lau as co-writer.

Emilija Baranac was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on August 4, 1994. She is primarily recognized for her roles in Riverdale, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and To All the Boys: I remain infatuated with you.
She joined her first talent agency at age nine. Even though she was born in Canada, her Serbian parents and heritage have made Serbian her native tongue.
In the official trailer for Fakes, which debuted a few weeks ago, Zoe Christensen, who plays Baranac’s leading woman, outlines the complicated situation when the authorities eventually catch up with them (both Zoe and Rebecca). She asserts,
“Yes, the situation is as terrible as it appears, and believe me, it will only get worse.”
This leads to a scene in which the two girls become unwittingly entangled in a hazardous counterfeit plot that threatens their relationship and potentially their futures.
The truth of their greatest lie becomes obscured when only one of them is imprisoned. Each event is described from the sometimes contradictory perspective of a single participant.
In an interview, Emilija Baranac supposedly detailed the protagonists, stating,
“Two episodes will frequently include the same scenario with minimal modifications. The audience is on the edge of their seats as Zoe and Rebecca fight for the final word in an effort to discover what happened.”
Baranac also marketed the series as a “fresh and funny take on a high school romance,” noting that viewers would get a glimpse inside the “complex and chaotic” lives of both main characters.
She went on,
“We hope that viewers will identify with the characters in some way, whether they recognize their own experiences or are inspired to reach out to a friend they haven’t spoken to in a while.”
