Mike, a biopic of boxer Mike Tyson starring Harvey Keitel, will premiere on Hulu on August 25, 2022. The eight-part mini-series will explore Mike Tyson’s life both inside and outside of the ring.

The drama is the brainchild of creator and screenwriter Steven Rogers and has a diverse ensemble. Among them are Trevante Rhodes from Moonlight, Laura Harrier from Hollywood, and Harvey Keitel, a New Hollywood Movement star and Martin Scorcese fan.

Harvey Keitel, a talented but underrated actor, rose to prominence through his portrayal of ethically ambiguous and “tough guy” roles. He starred in six Martin Scorsese films at the height of the New Hollywood Movement.

Keitel was born in Brooklyn, New York City, on May 13, 1939, and studied with Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and even at HB Studio. While performing on Broadway productions, he landed a role in Martin Scorcese’s Who’s That Knocking at My Door (1967).

This was also the start of the director’s illustrious career, which contributed to shaping the future of the Hollywood industry.

Prior to his acting career, Harvey served in the Marine Corps. After his release, he worked as a court stenographer for 10 to 12 years. Following his triumph in Scorcese’s debut film, he returned to play the lead in Mean Streets (1973).

In 1974, he also appeared in the films Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore and Taxi Driver (1976). The latter is still considered one of the greatest films of all time. He has worked on some of Hollywood’s most successful films.
