For over a decade, John Larroquette played vulgar and womanizing lawyer Dan Fielding in Night Court. In his spare time, his character spent most of his time leering at ladies or hitting on Christine Sullivan, played by Markie Post.
Larroquette was so convincing in the role of Fielding that he won four Emmys for it between 1985 and 1988. In reality, the actor is nothing like his portrayal. His sole love has been his wife, Elizabeth Larroquette, née Cookson. The couple is an exception in Hollywood, where marriages are rarely long-lasting.

Larroquette met his wife while working on the play Enter Laughing in 1974. The couple met, fell in love, and began dating before deciding to pursue their relationship further. They married on July 4, 1975, the only day without rehearsals.
After his marriage, the actor struggled with alcoholism from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. Finally, in February 1982, he had a light bulb moment. He quit drinking, was determined to make a better life for himself, and was fortunate to be hired on Night Court. He was a loving husband and father to his children while focusing on his trade.
The veteran performer is ready to retire with his wife of 47 years after decades in show business. “There was a lot of time apart because of the difficulties of having a family and keeping a job,” he explained to Closer Weekly. We’re back together, and we’re trying to enjoy it.”

During the same interview, the actor spoke about his love for his children. “I was serious about fatherhood. “I adore my children forever, do everything I can to help them, and yet let them be themselves,” the Practice star said. He expressed a desire to be as present for children as possible as someone who grew up without a father.
Larroquette and his wife have three children: Lisa Katherina Larroquette, Jonathan Larroquette, and Benjamin Larroquette. These are not, however, all of his biological children. His biological children are all boys; his daughter is the result of a previous relationship with his wife.
“We only share one biological parent. “I’m not sure what it meant to her or if it meant anything to her, but I don’t think I can express how important she was in my life and formative years,” Jonathan announced on Instagram that he would be celebrating the birthday of his sister in July 2022.
He expressed his gratitude for her presence and guidance in his life. According to her Instagram profile, Lisa is a home cook and graphic designer. She is married and has at least one son. She did not appear to follow in her parents’ footsteps in show business, unlike her younger brothers.
Ben, the youngest, graduated from Berklee College of Music and is well-known for his love of music as well as his involvement in environmental initiatives. Jonathan has worked on films such as Payne (1999), Happy Family (2003), and Wednesday Again (2006) as a composer and actor (2008).
But, while his father established himself as a womanizing lawyer and all-American father figure, Jonathan found his calling in comedy. He is a member of the hugely popular comedy podcast Dude, you’re right. “Trying to make others laugh is a direct result of how much you made me laugh and how strong and powerful that emotion was for me growing up,” Jonathan wrote in the caption of a Father’s Day post, adding that his father was an inspiration to him.
