Naya was raised in Los Angeles and was born there on January 12th, 1987. When she was just 8 or 9 months old, she signed up with her mother’s modeling agency. Yolanda, Naya’s mother, introduced Rivera to acting when he was a little child. Acting captured Naya’s heart, and she never looked back. In an interview with Hollywood the Write Way, she clarified:

On the day that she was meant to marry Sean, Naya quickly moved on by secretly getting married to Ryan Dorsey. Three months after Sean called off their engagement, she wed Ryan. Rivera and Ryan made the first-time parent announcement in February 2015. Josey Hollis was born to the couple in September 2015. Naya filed for divorce in November 2016 but afterward decided against it in October 2017. However, Naya’s arrest on domestic abuse charges in November 2017 revealed that things between her and Ryan were not going well.
Rivera allegedly struck Ryan in the head while they were out for a stroll with Josey, and Ryan called the police. Rivera was detained by the police after Dorsey gave them a video of the incident, and she was later charged in court. After appearing in court for one week, Rivera filed for divorce.
