In Ontario, Canada, Stephen Lecce is the current minister of education. After winning the election in June 2018, the Progressive Conservative was elected to represent King Vaughan. He was sworn in as minister of education a year later, and a few months after that, the biggest teachers union in Ontario and the provincial government were at odds.
Due to his alleged inability to reach an agreement with the teacher’s unions, Lecce received calls calling for his dismissal from his position. He nevertheless continued to hold office and most recently unveiled a comprehensive strategy for the start of classes in September 2020.

On November 26, 1986, Lecce was born in Vaughan, Ontario, to Italian immigrants who immigrated to Canada in the 1950s. Theresa, Lecce’s mother, tragically passed away on May 5, 2019, following a brief battle with cancer. To wish his mother a happy birthday, Stephen posted a vintage photo of the two of them on February 3, 2020. Happy Birthday in Heaven, he wrote. You have missed Ma.
Stephen gets along well with both his brother Michael and father Ray. We can see that the group enjoys playing golf together because of Stephen’s Instagram. On June 22, 2020, he uploaded a photo to Instagram of the trio following a round of golf and added the caption:

Lecce frequently shares his appreciation of his Italian background on social media since he is quite proud of it. He shared many pictures on Facebook in June 2019 along with the statement, “Proud of my immigrant parents’ trip to Canada. I’m pleased to be of Italian descent.
Lecce has a strong sense of loyalty to both his native nation and his adopted one. He referred to Canada as “the best country in the world” in an Instagram post from the Fourth of July.
