One of Iran’s most well-known actresses was detained by the police after she showed support for anti-government protesters. According to official media, Taraneh Alidoosti was jailed on suspicion of “spreading falsehoods” about the protest movement that has engulfed the nation.

The 38-year-old accused various foreign organizations of failing to speak out against Mohsen Shekari’s death in her post.
