THR claims that Lyric Ross has been brought on board to join the cast of Marvel’s Ironheart. On NBC’s This Is Us, where she has appeared since season 2, the actress is most known for her role as Deja Pearson.
Ross, whose character name has not yet been revealed, will play Riri Williams’ closest friend. However, according to the comics, Natalie Washington was Riri’s best friend growing up. Actor Anthony Ross will also be a part of the series, which will start filming in June.
Regarding Ironheart
One of the most anticipated Marvel television programs is Ironheart, which stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius engineer and creator of the most technologically advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. 2016 saw the introduction of the character in Marvel comics by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato.
A 15-year-old MIT student named Riri recreates Iron Man’s armor using its blueprints. Eventually, Iron Man takes note of her and encourages her to pursue a career as a superhero. The following Disney+ series will include six episodes with a cast made up of some up-and-coming actors.
Given that Natalie and Riri were friends when they were in their tens and lived in Chicago, Lyric Ross’ upcoming appearance as Natalie Washington in Ironheart may have important implications. The only person who saw Riri working on some of her ideas in the garage was Natalie, and the two eventually became close friends.
But Natalie’s adventure ended in tragedy when, at the age of 13, she was killed in a drive-by shooting. The same incident also resulted in the death of Riri’s stepfather. In honor of her best friend, who resembled an older version of her, Riri gave her Jarvis-like A.I. the name NATALIE. Riri is scheduled to make her MCU debut in November 2022 with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The series premiere date has not yet been announced.
