A$AP Rocky, whose true name is Rakim Mayers, made an appearance in a Los Angeles courthouse on Wednesday, November 9, 2023, for a preliminary hearing related to his gun assault charge.
Following a “heated discussion” in Hollywood, California, the prosecution presented security tape showing the rapper brandishing a semi-automatic weapon and perhaps shooting at Ephron.
Following the rapper’s August 2022 plea of not guilty to two charges of assault with a firearm, the footage was first made public at the hearing.
After the dispute, Ephron claimed he was injured by gunshot fragments and filed a civil lawsuit for assault, battery, and emotional distress against Rocky on August 10, 2022. He also said in court that he sought essential medical assistance at a hospital in New York City.
Small areas of raw, bleeding flesh were seen on the knuckles of Ephron’s left index, middle, and ring fingers in a picture of his minor injuries that were on exhibit in the courtroom.
Ephron said in his deposition that he attended high school in New York with Rocky and that they were boyhood friends. He said that once Rocky achieved success on his own and became “big-headed,” their relationship fell apart.
Additionally, he claimed that Rocky neglected to provide financial support for their buddy and fellow Mob member A$AP Josh’s burial, who passed away in October 2021.
Joseph Tacopina, Rocky’s defense lawyer, refuted all allegations and said that Rocky had fully covered Josh’s burial expenses.

He said that Ephron was driven by greed and envy and that he was lying about his injuries.
A$AP Rocky, Rihanna’s boyfriend, appears in court about gun charges
Rocky and his 35-year-old wife Rihanna are enjoying parenthood at the moment, but they are having legal issues.
After dating in 2019, the pair has two sons: Riot Rose, who is three months old, and RZA, who is eighteen months old. This August, they welcomed their second child.
In April 2022, after returning from a vacation to Barbados with Rihanna, who was then expecting their first kid, Rocky was detained at LAX airport.
Rocky’s attorney, Alan Jackson, stated that the arrest was related to the November 2021 shooting when police detained him at the airport.
Rocky wore a face mask and dark sunglasses on Wednesday when he showed up to court.
He seemed somber and dejected in court, wearing a black suit and white shirt, but he seemed to brighten up after the hearing when he was shown interacting with admirers and signing autographs outside the structure.
Next year, Rocky is anticipated to go on trial. He may spend up to eight years in jail if found guilty.
