On January 17, 2023, a prominent prosecutor said that Brian Walshe had been charged with murder in connection with the disappearance of his wife and was also accused of deceiving police throughout the hunt for her.

According to CNN, on January 18, 2023, the accused was brought before a Massachusetts court on allegations of murder and improper transfer of a corpse in connection with Ana Walshe’s disappearance.
