Gervonta Davis is actually incarcerated. He was arrested and placed into the Broward County prison on counts of domestic assault, according to documents. On Tuesday, December 27, the boxing world champion was arrested in Florida for domestic assault. The arrest and alleged domestic violence incident are still under investigation.
Gervonta will battle against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 in Washington, DC. It is unclear if the arrest on Tuesday would have an impact on the match. This was not Gervonta’s first arrest for a crime or domestic violence.
Previous Domestic Violence Case of Gervonta Davis
Gervonta Davis was arrested on February 1, 2020, on allegations of simple battery/domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his kid. The event occurred at a charity basketball game at the Watsco Center at the University of Miami.
Gervonta was seen snatching the woman’s clothing “with his right hand close to her throat” and taking her to a different room. The victim sustained lip and jaw damage, and the boxer surrendered to police days after the video went viral on Twitter.
Other charges against Gervonta Davis include a fist fight and hit-and-run.
Gervonta Davis was detained in Washington, D.C. on September 14, 2018, after a fistfight with another male, according to a police report. Punches were allegedly thrown around the upper torso. Someone attempted to break up the altercation, and both guys fled before the police came.
In March 2021, he was arrested on 14 charges for allegedly running a red light following a birthday party in downtown Baltimore in November 2020. His Lamborghini SUV collided with another car, sending four people to the hospital. Gervonta is said to have fled the scene in a Camaro that arrived minutes later. He was scheduled to stand trial before a jury in March 2022. If convicted on all fourteen charges, he may face more than seven years in jail.
Gervonta Davis Appeared in Court in 2017 For An Unknown Dispute
Boxing champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been involved in a number of legal issues. Gervonta was charged with first-degree aggravated assault on September 19, 2017, and an arrest warrant was issued.
