Jason Myers, a meteorologist for WBTV, passed away, and his loved ones, friends, and fans are grieving. In his memory, condolences are being put all around Charlotte and in the media sector.
Myers was working as a meteorologist for WBTV when the accident occurred. He previously spent more than six years (2013–2019) as ABC 36’s top meteorologist.

On November 22, 2022, a helicopter disaster in North Carolina claimed the lives of Chip Tayag, a Sky3 pilot, and Jason Andrew Myers, age 41. His obituary can be shown on a Legacy page.
Around midday, a collision happened close to Interstate 77’s southbound lanes at the Nations Ford Road exit. The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are also looking into the event; more details have not yet been released.
His abrupt death has startled his family, friends, coworkers, and viewers, who have also praised Myers.
Bobby Noble, a buddy from their youth, called Myers a likable individual. Whether you knew him for a short time or a long time, Noble added, “He was just lovable.”
WBTV regular Ann Wright stated she had the impression that she had known Myers for a very long time. I know no stranger. He may be unfamiliar to me, but I am not unfamiliar with him, she added.
Myers is recalled as being loving and amusing, usually grinning, and committed to his profession.
Funeral services for Myers are set for this coming Saturday, while those for Tayag are planned for this coming Tuesday.

Jason Myers was born on February 19, 1981, to Rev. Glenn and Susan Myers in Salisbury, Maryland, in the United States. He was raised in North Carolina’s Union and Catawba counties.
Myers graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in meteorology with a concentration in communications after attending high school in Davidson County. He belonged to the American Meteorological Society as well.
The renowned meteorologist has previously held positions in Abilene, Texas; Lexington, Kentucky; and Richmond, Virginia. He held positions with businesses including ABC 36 and WBTV.
Jillian Ann Southerland, a friend from childhood who Jason Myers married on May 10, 2003, bore the couple four children: Andrew (19), Lilly (17), Luke (15), and Lydia (13).
Jason was a Christian who was an American national.
The Myers family’s GoFundMe was launched by a family friend, with all money going toward funeral and memorial expenses.
The first phrase on the website reads, “Jason Myers regrettably perished in a helicopter crash while on a job assignment with WBTV News on November 22, 2022.
As of the time of writing, people had given more than $155,000 to the fundraiser, surpassing its initial $15,000 goal.
In a recent update, the family stated that they were “overwhelmed by the generous outpouring of love and support after the unimaginable loss of our beloved husband, Father, son, brother, and friend.”
