On June 14, AEW President Tony Khan issued a press statement confirming Jeff’s extended suspension without pay. He continued by saying that AEW would only extend an invitation to him to return if he had successfully completed alcoholism treatment and was sober.

The Hardy brothers were set to meet Dragon Lee and Dralstico at Triplemana XXX on June 18, but his planned appearance was canceled, and Johnny Elite took his place.

Jeff has had his share of legal issues. On September 11, 2009, he was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking and anabolic steroid possession. After investigating his home, the authorities discovered the drugs.

As a result, he received a ten-day prison term, 30 months of probation, and a $100,000 fine. The jail term he served was from October 3 to October 13, 2011.

Jeff was detained for public drunkenness in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in July 2019. In Moore County, North Carolina, he was detained once again in October 2019 and accused of driving under the influence.
