The football star made her debut on August 28 and scored twice in a 4-3 loss to Florida, just ten days after helping Canada win bronze at the Olympic Games.
Fleming was one of just two rookies to be chosen to the NSCAA All-America third team in 2016. She was named NSCAA All-Pacific Region, All-Pac-12, and All-Freshman, as well as Top Drawer Soccer Freshman of the Year. As a second-year player, Jessie also had a 20-point season, with six goals, three game-winners, and eight assists.
She was also named a Hermann Trophy finalist after scoring a goal and assisting UCLA to the College Cup final.
