Lane Frost was a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) professional rodeo cowboy who specialized in bull riding. The 1987 PRCA World Champion bull rider was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1990.
Lane was the only rider to gain qualifying rides on the 1990 ProRodeo Hall of Fame bull and the 1987 PRCA Bucking Bull of the Year on Red Rock. Josh Frost’s second cousin is the late rodeo cowboy Lane Frost. Because Josh comes from a rodeo family and has had great success, many people have speculated whether he is connected to world champion bull rider and five-time NFR qualifier Lane Frost.
Lane and Josh never met. It had been seven years since Lane died in a horrific accident when Josh Frost was born. Lane Frost was born in Lapoint, Utah, to Clyde and Elsie Frost. Lane’s father worked as a saddle bronc on the rodeo circuit. Cody, the late bull rider’s younger brother, and Robin, his older sister, survived him.
Lane learned to ride dairy claves at an early age. When he was 10, the famed rider won his first rodeo trophies in the Little Buckaroos. Frost joined the PRCA after graduating from high school in 1982 and began participating in rodeo on a regular basis. In 1987, at the age of 24, he won the PRCA World Championship Bull Riding.
Red Rock, a bull owned by the Growney Bros. Rodeo Company, was named “Bucking Bull of the Year.” Frost gave it a go in the Challenge of the Champions in 1988, winning four of the seven demonstration fights he rode in. Later, he competed in the Rodeo ’88 Challenge Cup, which was part of the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics’ Cultural Olympiad.
Unfortunately, he died at the age of 25 after suffering serious injuries in the 1989 Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. After the ride, a bull called Takin’ Care of Business attacked him in the back, fracturing numerous ribs and sustaining internal injuries on July 30, 1989.
Josh Frost’s Ethnicity And Family
Josh Frost was born to Shane and Lisa Frost in the mid-1990s. He will be 27 years old in 2023. Joe and Jate Frost are his two brothers, while Jacelyne Frost is his sister. Josh comes from a bull riding family and is a third-generation PRCA Cowboy. Joe Frost, his grandpa, and his father, Shan Frost, were both PRCA members.
Clyde Frost, Josh Frost’s uncle, also competed in the inaugural NFR in bareback riding in 1959. Clyde also qualified twice for saddle bronc riding. Joe Frost, Josh Frost’s brother, is a three-time WNFR qualifier at bull riding.
Josh Frost’s Professional Career
Josh Frost started participating in rodeo at the age of eight. He is now ranked third in the world in bull riding. The Cache County Fair and Rodeo in Logan, Utah, is his favorite rodeo, where he participated four times and won the all-around three times. American Sniper is Josh’s favorite bull. As role models, the 27-year-old bull rider cites his father, brother, and collegiate rodeo coach Robert Etabuer.
