The Elderidge Police Department charged Maddie with using GoFundMe to collect more than $37,303 from more than 400 contributors.

Prior to Maddie Russo’s arrest, the Elderidge Police Department issued a statement.

As a result, Madison from St. Ambrose University in Davenport was detained by the Elderidge Police on January 23, 2023, for stealing by deceit, a class C crime.
