In Season 9, Episode 19 of the episode titled “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” Chalke played a single mother who was driven to discover the cause of her son’s strange sickness.
Her own life experiences served as the basis for her character. Chalke later discussed her son’s condition in an interview with TVLine. She asserted that Charlie exhibited the illness’ symptoms but had received many incorrect diagnoses.
Afifi and Chalke struggled to assess Charlie and find a specialist because the doctor was unable to diagnose their son. Fortunately, they were able to find an expert and obtain treatment quickly.
Charlie received his therapy in ten to twelve days, as opposed to the actress’s claim that a patient with Kawasaki disease had to receive it in ten days. So, despite the fact that they received therapy a little later than expected, Charlie made a full recovery.
Frances, Chalke and Afifi’s second child, was born on April 28, 2016. They gave their daughter the name Frankie after the grandparents of the actress.
