Dr. Joseph gave further information on the procedure, saying that it was required since one of his toes tended to flex inward, which was painful.

Hallux limitus was a condition brought on by a subluxated joint. The misplaced bone needed to be realigned in order to correct the problem, and screws had to be used to hold it in place.

Shemar had to wear a pad prior to surgery in order to alleviate the agony caused by the protruding bone. The actor from Criminal Minds is now on the road to a quick recovery after the operation went well.
