Well-known actor Shemar recently updated his followers on personal matters through an Instagram video. The actor said that he had just had surgery to treat his left foot’s bunions.
In the video, which went live on May 16, the actor was shown lounging on a sofa with his podiatrist, Dr. Robert J. Joseph II. Despite having surgery, he seemed content as he proudly displayed the bandages that were assisting in his recovery.
Dr. Joseph gave further information on the procedure, saying that it was required since one of his toes tends to flex inward and create pain.
The cause of this ailment, known as hallux limitus, was a subluxated joint. The doctor had to realign the misaligned bone and use screws to hold it in place in order to resolve the problem.
Shemar had to wear a pad prior to the operation in order to relieve the discomfort caused by the protruding bone. The actor from Criminal Minds is now on the road to a quick recovery after the operation went well.

The usual recovery period after bunion surgery, according to the renowned Cleveland Clinic, is three months to six weeks, during which time the bones gradually mend.
