The actress is well-known for her roles in The Beautiful City, Fireworks Wednesday, About Elly, and Shahrzad in addition to The Salesman.

A Crystal Simorgh, an Iran Cinema Celebration Award, and an Iran’s Film Critics and Writers Association Award are just a few of the honors bestowed to The Salesman Actress.

In addition to her work as an actor, Taraneh is a fluent speaker of German and English. Alidoosti has also translated works by Alice Munro and Nicole Krauss from English into Persian.

Taraneh Alidoosti, is she in custody?

The Salesman actress Taraneh Alidoosti may be detained when she posed without a headscarf, according to Metro.

In addition, Alidoosti had taken a photo without the required headscarf to show her support for the anti-government rallies in Iran.

The Salesman Actress earlier made a commitment to stay in Iran at any cost. Taraneh even took time off from her work to assist the families of those slain during the crackdown on protesters by the security forces.

According to the BBC, Hengameh Ghaziani and Katayoun Riahi, two well-known Iranian actors, were detained for openly endorsing large-scale anti-government demonstrations.

Hengameh Ghaziani and Katayoun Riahi, according to the Irna news agency, are charged with conspiring and subverting Iranian authorities.

In a post on social media before being taken into custody, Ms. Ghaziani said, “Whatever happens, know that, as always, I will stand with the people of Iran.”

Following the arrest, Ali Hamedani tweeted that Katayoun Riahi, one of the first actresses to appear in public following Mahsa Amini’s murder without donning the required hijab, had apparently been taken into custody.

Terehan is often referred to as the “Natalie Portman of Iran” by international media. She also made headlines in 2016 when, at a press conference for The Salesman, she showed off a feminist tattoo.

Who Was the Iranian Actress?

The 38-year-old woman shared a picture of herself without a headscarf as a form of protest against the government that she had previously criticized.

The picture shows a movie actress carrying a homemade placard that says in Kurdish, “Woman, Life, Freedom” while standing in front of flowery wallpaper.

She previously received a five-month term for posting a video of an Iranian lady being attacked by a “morality” police officer for not donning a headscarf while walking along the street.

Sardar Azmoun, an Iranian football player, also voiced his sentiments on social media before Taraneh made her comments.

The outspoken actress, who has previously been known to express her opinions, is often referred to in international media as “the Natalie Portman of Iran.”

The Salesman was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, but Alidoosti said on January 26 that she would skip the ceremony because of the tough travel restrictions the Trump administration intended to place on Iranians.

Taraneh Alidoosti: Where Is She Now?

According to Volant Media UK, Alidoosti was charged with “propaganda activities against the state” and was called before Branch Nine of the Culture and Media Prosecutor’s Office on January 21, 2020.

She was accused, freed on bond, and hasn’t spoken out about her punishment yet, according to Dailymail.

In a post on Instagram in 2020, she broke with tradition and attacked the Iranian regime, telling her almost six million followers that they were “captives” rather than “citizens.”

The 39-year-old actress was conceived on January 12, 1984, in Tehran, Iran, to parents Hamid Alidoosti and Nadere Hakimelahi.

Hannah was the name of Taraneh’s daughter, who she had in 2013. Her only sibling was tragically killed while watching fireworks during the Iranian New Year.
