Isabel Torres was a Spanish actress, TV personality, activist, and program host who was also a member of Spain’s LGBTQ community. She was born masculine but identified as transgender. In 1996, she became the first Canarian woman to change her name. Mrs. Isabel was also the first transgender woman to compete for the title of International Carnival Queen in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
