Alexandre and Ana Carolina’s relationship began during their time in school when a bond formed that lasted for three years.
But along the way, they encountered some unexpected detours.
At the age of 17, Carolina became pregnant with Isabella, coinciding with the father of the 5-year-old set to start law school.
The tie between them was too strong to heal, and even though they had discussed living together while she was pregnant, their relationship was already in danger of collapsing.
Ana made the decision to raise her baby while living with her parents as a consequence.
Update on Isabella Nardoni’s Murder in 2023
On March 29, 2008, 5-year-old Nardoni, together with her father Alexandre, stepmother Anna Carolina Jatobá, and their two kids, were thrown from the sixth-floor balcony of Edifício London.
After 34 minutes of fruitless attempts at resuscitation by emergency workers, the woman who had been discovered in cardiac arrest in the front yard passed away while being transported to the hospital.
The father of Isabella Nardoni said that he parked the vehicle and put a sleeping Isabella to bed when they got to the building.
When he came back ten or fifteen minutes later, he stated she was gone. When Alexandre peered down and saw his child’s corpse below, he became aware of the broken window screen.
The mother of the little kid said that Jatobá contacted her that evening in a frenzied manner, yelling that her daughter had fallen.
She didn’t touch Oliveira when she got there since she didn’t want to make her situation worse.
Nardoni, five years old, was consoled, kissed, and assured she was loved before being brought to the hospital, where her severe injuries ultimately claimed her life.
In Sao Paulo, 200 people attended her funeral.
Case of Isabella Nardoni: Brief Life
Investigators, in spite of Alves and Jatobá’s denials of guilt, discovered substantial evidence linking them. Blood from Isabella was discovered in their vehicle and flat, and Nardoni’s clothes had vomit on them.
By the window she was tossed from, there were prints from his flip-flops. He had pieces of wire safety screen on his clothing, and the apartment had scissors.
Her wounds were consistent with a fall that happened by accident. She was asphyxiated and pummeled; the only damage to her body was to her wrists. She was still alive when she was discovered, according to the autopsy.
Despite giving conflicting statements, both of them denied killing Oliveira throughout their 2010 trial.
Alves said he was coerced by the police to confess to unintentional killing. He said he was shocked and had not helped Isabella when he had found her.
Jatobá acknowledged making up tales when questioned. The stories of their battles differed; her stepmother acknowledged regular, violent clashes, while he said they were expected.
The jury returned a verdict of over 31 years for Alexandre and over 26 years for Anna Carolina Jatobáto’s murder of Isabella after a five-day trial.
In addition, they were found guilty of falsifying evidence. Brazil was startled by the case, which received a lot of media attention.
