The National Basketball Association (NBA) team that Ja Morant plays for is the Memphis Grizzlies. He is an American professional basketball player. During his second year of collegiate basketball with the Murray State Racers in 2019, Morant earned a unanimous All-American. The Memphis Grizzles picked the South Carolina native with the second overall choice in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Since then, Morant has been the Grizzles’ standout player, earning two NBA All-standout teams and winning the 2020 and 2022 NBA Rookie of the Year awards.

Since the Memphis Grizzlies player has not been arrested, there is no Ja Morant mugshot. After it was reported that Morant had been charged with repeatedly hitting a 17-year-old child, rumors of his being imprisoned spread. In September 2022, the kid sued Morant in Shelby County, alleging that the Grizzlies star repeatedly hit him.
The two sides came to an undisclosed mutual arrangement, sealing the matter. The records state that the police looked into the claim for a few weeks before turning it over to the district attorney’s office on October 4.
But less than a month later, the DA decided not to press charges and dismissed the case for lack of sufficient evidence. The basketball player was accused of assault but not arrested, thus the rumors that he was imprisoned and that a mugshot of him exists are unfounded.
Accusations and Allegations Against Ja Morant
Last year, Ja Morant was charged with repeatedly hitting a child. On July 26, 2022, the event took place at Morant’s home in Eads, Tennessee. The NBA player was playing pickup basketball with the 17-year-old child at his residence, the teenager said to the authorities.
Soon after, the two started arguing verbally. As the confrontation heated up, the child unintentionally hurled the basketball at Morant, striking him in the face. Should I do it to him? The Grizzlies star questioned the onlookers as he walked up to the child and rested his chin on his shoulder.
The adolescent was knocked to the ground by a closed-fist strike from Morant. The docs claim that while the youngster was on the ground, the NBA star kept poking him. Another individual, whom Morant referred to as “his brother,” was allegedly engaged in the confrontation, according to the adolescent who had a massive knot on his head. The basketball player did not, however, provide the man’s name.
Soon after it started, onlookers had to break up the fight. The Grizzlies player informed the police that he had acted in self-defense when the plaintiff approached him and seemed ready to fight. The adolescent angrily threatened him, he continued, saying he would “light his house up.”
Previously, Ja Morant was charged with a mall incident.
A few days before the alleged adolescent attack, Morant was charged with threatening the mall’s security chief in Memphis. The victim said that Morant and several of his pals shoved him in the head while threatening him in the mall’s parking lot. The Grizzlies star’s mother argued with a Finish Line shop clerk before the incident.
She then dialed her son’s number, who showed up with a number of his buddies and reportedly refused to leave when the security chief confronted him. However, after the event, no further prosecutions were brought.
