Jacob Bell, Remembers His Time During The Competition’s Final

Near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, in Winterton-on-Sea, Jacob Bell nearly missed winning Britain’s Best Woodworker on the Channel 4 program.

Making it to the TV show final, according to a school groundskeeper, was the “greatest thing I’ve ever done.”

The 23-year-old was one of the three contenders to advance to the final and spent five weeks recording the show in Wales earlier this year.

I’ll never forget how far we’ve come, remarked Mr. Bell. Being a part of [this] final, in his opinion, was sufficient. “Series one was without a doubt my favorite thing I’ve ever watched on TV,” he remarked.

“The chance to produce anything I wanted out of as much wood as I wanted without having to pay for it. To have entire flexibility of design – and to be able to do that eight times, was fantastic,” the builder said of his desire to complete all eight builds.

Mr. Bell, who was encouraged to create things as a child by his grandfather, claimed to have applied for the program last Christmas but to have forgotten all about it until producers got in touch with him.

He claimed that candidates were eliminated in timed auditions, but he was able to secure his TV position by winning over executives with his birdbox design.

Around his custom-made dining table, Mr. Bell, a Canterbury, Kent native, watched Wednesday’s series finale with his girlfriend, her family, and friends.

Although the challenge and filming schedule was rigorous, he claimed to have developed close relationships with the other competitors.

On set, they all shared a section of temporary housing, and they have been messaging each other every day since the program.

We would always go and wave them off as if they were a family member when someone left the program, according to Mr. Bell.

“We can chat about wood for the rest of the day, we all just just adore it.

“As a result, we quit irritating our family with it and engage in conversation.”

He claimed that while he had saved some of the pieces created during the episodes, he had also given his family other things.

Mr. Bell, who attended college to study carpentry and joinery and who also works as a handyman in the Winterton area, claimed that since his TV appearances, people have given him requests for furniture.

He had to expand his garden workshop as a result, but he claimed that life in Winterton, where he had lived for three years, was ideal for woodworking.

It’s the nicest place since it’s so quiet and I can focus on what I’m doing, he remarked.
