Facts about Jahzir Bruno

Jahzir is a young actor who enjoys football. So it was no surprise when he began to flourish in the sport in his native Jamaica.

“I used to play football all the time when I was a kid.” “I played on the national team for three years when I was in primary school,” he recalls. His love of the sport lasted into his adolescence, but Jahzir’s life altered when he moved to New York City with his family in 2008.

Jahzir had never seen snow before coming to America, and he joined the football team at his Queens high school. However, the competition was more difficult than he was used to.

“I saw people playing touch football back home, so I tried out,” Jahzir says. “However, it turns out that there are numerous differences. In Jamaica, you can take a break from football for a few months and then return to it. In America, though, you will be fired if you skip even one practice.”

After graduating from high school in 2013, Jahzir enrolled as a freshman at Baruch College to study business management.

Jahzir found time to play football while juggling his college education and part-time work. When he was not selected for his college squad, he realized there was an issue with the sport. “I understood that if I wanted to continue playing at my top level, I needed to secure a scholarship,” Jahzir says.
