Jalaiah Harmon was born in Fayetteville, Georgia, the USA on August 28, 2005. She now lives in Atlanta with her family. Stefanie, her mother, is very supportive of her. Jalaiah Harmon- Professional Career

Jalaiah Harmon has been on social media for quite some time. The most recent post on her Instagram page was made in November of 2018. She eventually began publishing dance videos on lesser short-video-sharing websites like Funimate and Dubsmash. Harmon choreographed a brief dance routine to the chorus of rapper K-song Camp’s “Lottery” in September 2019 with the help of her friend and fellow social star Kaliyah Davis. Although the choreography did not take long, she completed it after arriving home from school and before departing for her dance sessions, which she found challenging. She included elements of other viral dancing techniques, such as the wave and whoa. She then recorded herself and posted it to Funimate and Instagram.

It received a muted response at first. A month later, TikTok’s most popular content producer, Global. Jones was the first to present the routine. Charli D’Amelio, a popular TikToker, also released a video. Others quickly followed suit. But not one of them acknowledged Harmon as the routine’s original originator. As The Renegade became a viral success, Jalaiah Harmon attempted to position herself as to its choreographer, frequently putting comments on videos and begging that the user give her credit. Eventually, Dubsmash’s worldwide head of content, Barrie Segal, contacted her and introduced her to Taylor Lorenz, a New York Times reporter.

About February 13, 2020, Lorenz’s piece on Harmon, The Renegade, and the appropriation of the latter by popular TikTok users was released. It drew significant media attention to the broader issue of larger influencers utilizing the content of smaller ones without specific consent, and it generated a much-needed discussion on the subject. Harmon, meanwhile, teamed with Atlanta-based hip-hop artist K Camp in a video that shows her playing The Renegade with the Atlanta-based hip-hop artist seated behind her, shortly after the New York Times article was published. She has also appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show and performed at the NBA All-Star Game in Chicago.

She met Charli D’Amelio for the first time during All-Star weekend. Everything is great between the girls, according to Stefanie Harmon. D’Amelio and another social star Addison Easterling even collaborated on a Renegade video with Harmon. In February 2020, Jalaiah Harmon began sharing videos on her TikTok page. She has since been confirmed and has over 2.6 million fans and over 20 million total likes.

Plans for the Future

While Harmon values the title of influencer, her true passion remains dance. United Talent Agency is now representing her.
