Polster has worked as a novelist, screenwriter, explorer, and journalist. His first novel, A Guest in the Jungle, drew attention to the disappearing rainforest and the people who live in it and helped to launch the rainforest environmental movement. Numerous media profiles have been written about his exploits and adventures. Brown, his second novel, was named one of the Best Books of the Year by Publishers Weekly and received The Critics’ Choice Award in 1995-96. Brown will be adapted into a feature film.
