Yamaguchi, a naval engineer, miraculously survived the World War II atomic bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Unfortunately, the film has been delayed, but The Terminator director has not given up hope. James Cameron, who has a $720 million net worth, recently told the Los Angeles Times that he still plans to make a film about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

“Would be as relevant as ever,” James Cameron says of his upcoming film Hiroshima

Cameron admitted to Jordan Riefe of the Los Angeles Times that a Hiroshima film based on The Last Train From Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back is still his dream project, despite the fact that the book was published more than a decade ago. He cited the Ukraine-Russia conflict and rising nationalism as examples of why the film would be relevant today. “,” Cameron stated.

“We live in a more dangerous world than we previously imagined… I believe the Hiroshima image would be equally, if not more, relevant. It serves as a reminder of what these weapons can do when used on humans.”

To be sure, a Hiroshima film is consistent with James Cameron’s cinematic approaches and aesthetics. Almost all of Cameron’s films depict the ongoing conflict between nature, humans, and intelligent robots, as well as corporate and wealthy avarice, with strong female characters and romance subplots driving the plot forward.

When the director’s big project gets going, this could be the subject

However, because he is currently working on Avatar 3, the third installment in the critically and financially successful trilogy, the Canadian director will be unable to document the Hiroshima-Nagasaki explosions anytime soon. The sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, is now a box-office success.

James Cameron’s film has grossed $2.245 billion (and counting) on a budget of $350-460 million. When the Titanic was re-released on February 10, 2023, he made a lot of money.

For the tiJamesme being, if you want to brush up on your Hiroshima-Nagasaki knowledge, head to Netflix or other platforms and watch some of the best movies/documentaries made about the disaster, such as White Light, Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (2007), Greatest Events of WWII in Color (2019), and Fat Man and Little Boy (1989).
