Jamie disclosed his positive cancer treatment prognosis on January 5, 2023, and has “gotten lots of support” from both Democratic and Republican MPs.
After several days of tests, Jamie, a senior House Democrat and member of the January 6 Committee, revealed in a statement that his condition is a treatable form of cancer.
The lawmaker was diagnosed with cancer earlier in 2010 after having previously battled colorectal cancer.
Jamie is currently popular in addition to being ill because he served as the impeachment manager for Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial.
The congressman also served two years on the Rules Committee, was chosen to serve on the committee looking into the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, and sat on the Coronavirus Select Subcommittee.

Congressman Jamie from Maryland has been identified as having a serious but treatable form of cancer called diffuse large B cell lymphoma.
He allegedly started an outpatient chemo-immunotherapy program at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Med Star Georgetown University Hospital, according to a December statement, CNN reports.
Jamie anticipates being able to continue working during his outpatient treatment at a hospital in the Washington, D.C., region. Jamie will be the leading Democrat on the House oversight and reform committee in the upcoming Congress.
As he receives treatment, the congressman expects to continue working, saying, “He plans to get through this and keep making progress every day in Congress for American democracy.”
According to The Congregation’s website, “Prognosis for most people in his situation is excellent after four months of treatment.”
After Tommy, his 25-year-old son, committed suicide on December 31, 2020, Jamie’s cancer returned two years later.

Jamie claimed to be strong and full of energy despite having cancer. He also mentioned that the chemotherapy and radiation treatments were causing him to lose between 40 and 50 hairs per day.
In an interview with Tapper, the member of the House Oversight Committee claimed that even medical professionals are quite hopeful that chemotherapy would successfully treat cancer.
After four months of therapy, Jamie’s prognosis is excellent for the majority of patients.
Diffuse large B cell lymphoma is typically treated with chemotherapy using a four-drug regimen given in cycles spaced three weeks apart, according to the American Cancer Society.
