The majority of people’s memories of Hooks come from her appearances as a regular cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, which ran from 1986 until 1991.

Many have been interested in learning more about Jan Hooks’ spouse. While she was dating her “Saturday Night Live” co-star Kevin Nealon, several websites claim that she had never been married.
In their lives as celebrities, they often deal with these types of rumors. One website claims that Hooks is the father of two marriages. She was married to actor and comedian Phil Hartman from 1987 to 1998.
Her current spouse is actor and director Stephen Stills. Jan had a condo in New York and a farmhouse in rural New York. She moved between the two places until she moved to the farmhouse permanently.
Not long after her relocation, a cancerous node was discovered in her throat. Because the tumor was not responding to treatment, the doctors recommended that she undergo a laryngectomy.
But Jan did not get the treatment. Rather, she continued to smoke and drink until her cancer had progressed too far.
Relationship with Kevin Nealon, her boyfriend
Jan had met Kevin Nealon, her co-star on “Saturday Night Live,” during an audition, and the two became good friends.
After years of companionship, the two declared their love for one another and went by their nicknames, “Kevers” and “Janners.”
Jan had lost her mother just before starting her tenure on “Saturday Night Live,” and she had found solace in Kevin’s company.
Their relationship developed as they co-hosted the program. Sadly, they broke up after dating for a very long time. Despite this, they remained close until Jan’s death.
Infancy of Hooks
Born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, Hooks attended Canby Lane Elementary School and Towers High School.
Her father, a Sears employee, was transferred, so during her junior year of high school in 1974, she moved to Fort Myers, Florida.
After graduating from Cypress Lake High School in 1975, she appeared in a play for the first time. She majored in theater at Edison State College before quitting to pursue acting full-time.
Hooks’ doctor told her to quit drinking because she had liver issues, but she didn’t try. She was diagnosed with leukemia in February 2009, and after therapy, the disease went into remission in May.
On October 9, she lost her life to throat cancer at the age of 57. Her remains were interred at Northview Cemetery in Cedartown, Georgia.
She was honored in the credits of the Simpsons episode “Super Franchise Me” on October 12, 2014, which included her longstanding character Manjula Nahasapeemapetilon.
