After federal officials and Indiana State Police investigated his residence in July 2015, he was charged with receiving and distributing child pornography.
Evidence from the inquiry revealed that Fogle had paid children for sex acts and had obtained child pornography from Russell Taylor, who was later given a 27-year jail term.
The FBI charged Fogle with conspiracy, and Taylor was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator.
After Fogle was arrested, the FBI saw text exchanges between him and Cindy Mill, a Subway franchisee, in which Fogle spoke about having sex with her 16-year-old cousin and assaulting minors sexually.
The same day, Subway terminated its commercial partnership with Fogle and deleted all mention of him from its website.
In the end, he entered a guilty plea to these accusations and received a 15-year federal prison term.
Soon after his incarceration, Fogle’s relationship with Subway came to an end, and the company made a point of publicly distancing itself from him.
Jared Fogle consented to enter a guilty plea in August 2015 for delivering and receiving child pornography as well as traveling to engage in illegal sexual activity with a minor.
In November 2015, Fogle was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in federal prison. Upon his release from prison, he will be under supervised release for the remainder of his life.
Fogle has been fined $175,000 and forced to pay $1.4 million in reparations to his victims in addition to his jail term.
