Jared Rushton is a singer and actor best known for his roles in films such as “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and “Overboard.”
Jared’s Childhood
Michael Rushton was born on March 3, 1974, in Provo, Utah, USA, under the sign of Pisces. His mother’s name is Monica Rushton, but his father’s name has yet to be revealed. He grew up alongside Ryan Rushton, a musician who has been a member of the band Withdrawal since 2004.

Career Television
Jared began his career in 1986 with the TV series “Tales from the Darkside,” in which he played Richie. In the same year, he portrayed Peter Wade in the TV series “Cagney & Lacey,” and in 1987, he was offered the role of Peter in “Top Kids,” as well as Charlie Proffitt in “Overboard.”

In 1988, he appeared as Donald in “Lady in White,” as Billy in “Big,” and as Travis Harmon in “Murder, She Wrote.” In 1989, he played Chip Lang in the TV series “Roseanne,” and the following year, he was cast in his most renowned role as Ron Thompson in Joe Johnston’s “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.” Joe had previously only worked on films as an art director and effects illustrator, therefore this was his directorial debut.
The film starred Rick Moranis, Matt Frewer, Marcia Strassman, and Kristine Sutherland as the lead characters, and it went on to become the highest-grossing live-action Disney film ever made, holding the record for five years. It received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike, and it won the BAFTA award for Best Special Visual Effects.
The film’s sound engineer, James Horner, earned an ASCAP Award for Top Box Office Films, and the film was nominated for several other prizes as well.
The success of the film spawned two sequels: “Honey, I Blew Up The Kid” in 1992 and “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves” in 1997. The movie’s franchise also spawned a television series called “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Program” and a theme park experience called “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience,” however Jared Rushton did not appear in the sequels or the TV show.

Jared immersed himself in music once his acting career entirely died out. He is currently participating in two bands, “Withdrawal” and “Deal by Dusk”; he is one of the bands’ vocalists and plays guitar.
