After 30 years on the ABC Network, Dancing with the Stars will make its Disney+ debut. The dancing competition will begin on September 19 and will feature celebrities from a variety of industries fighting for the Mirrorball trophy.
The most recent edition will be presented by Tyra Banks and former Mirrorball champion Alfonso Riberio. Alfonso commented in an interview with People regarding DWTS:
“To be asked to co-host with Tyra and to be a part of the incredible crew, dancers, and friends…
It’s a privilege to share the stage with them and to be a member of that family once more.”
Jason Lewis, who portrays Samantha Jones’s love interest Smith Jerrod on the HBO series Sex and the City, has been confirmed to compete on Dancing With the Stars.
He will compete against professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd as well as Selma Blair, Trevor Donovan, Cheryl Ladd, and Daniel N. Durant. Lewis proposed to his long-term partner Liz Godwin in 2019 despite their age difference of twenty years. She impacted the actor’s decision to participate in Dancing With the Stars.
How did Liz Godwin get Jason Lewis to compete on Dancing With the Stars?
Fans can thank Jason Lewis’s girlfriend for his participation in Dancing With the Stars. When contacted about the project, the actor was initially hesitant, and he stated that Liz Godwin was the primary factor in his decision to accept the offer.
In an interview with People, the actor discussed DWTS and made the following statement:
I had always declined because I did not find reality television to be of interest.
Liz counseled him to “be a little less stubborn” and watch the prior seasons when he had the chance. The couple first met in Miami almost seven years ago and have come a long way since then. On a cliff, just before dusk, the actor proposed to his producer lover.
She was surprised and had not anticipated the proposal. She claimed she was “overwhelmed by emotions and feelings” she was unaware she possessed.
On Valentine’s Day, Lewis confirmed their engagement on Instagram, writing:
“On December 27, 2019, I popped the question to the woman of my dreams, making me the happiest man on earth.”
Additionally, Liz posted on the social networking site:
“The secret is out, and I will spend the rest of my life with this man.”
Liz (31) and Jason (51) have a 20-year age gap, yet for them, age is merely a number. When asked to define their relationship, the future bride described it as “nurturing, exciting, and dynamic.” She went on to say,
“He is my rock-solid support and lifeline. We have no expectations or illusions about one another. And we do not feel as though we possess one another.”
When deciding whether or not to compete in Dancing With the Stars, Jason praised Liz as a “great support.” He also disclosed that his fiancee is a major fan of the show and is thrilled about their match. According to Jason, Liz had a list of potential partners for her husband on which Peta was included.
He declared:
“Not only has she kept me up-to-date, but having someone to discuss it with who is so enthusiastic has been a great experience.”
