Jay Hammer is an American actor best known for his portrayal of freelance journalist Fletcher Reade on CBS Daytime’s Guiding Light from March 1984 to March 1998. He reappeared briefly. In the spring of 1999, she first appeared on the show, and she returned when it finished in 2009. In the 1978-1979 season of the Jeffersons, he played Allan Willis. In The Jeffersons, he plays the son of multiracial marriage Tom and Helen Willis. Other films in which he has appeared include The Blue Knight, Kojak, Mannix, Sons and Daurors, Emergency!, and Adam-12. Her theatrical credits include Off-Broadway productions of Passing from Exotic Venue and Serenading Louie. In 1981, he was the dominant figure at the Max Dekker ranch in Texas.
