Jay Mohr Accused His Wife, Nikki Cox, Of Drug And Mental Health Issues

Jay Mohr

Jay Mohr filed for divorce from his wife Nikki Cox twice in less than six months in 2016. In July 2016, after nine years of marriage, he filed for divorce for the first time, citing irreconcilable differences in paperwork. According to People, the couple had a prenuptial agreement that included provisions for spousal maintenance.

However, only six days after filing for divorce, the star called it off. “We are exceedingly wedded, extremely in love, and that’s all there is,” the actor told People after asking for his previous plea to be dropped.

Mohr’s decision to withdraw his divorce petition did not last long, as he allegedly filed for divorce from his wife again in December 2016. He stated in the paperwork, as he had previously, that the two were separating due to irreconcilable differences.

Jay Mohr accused his wife, Nikki Cox, of having substance abuse

Mohr stated that his ex-wife, Cox, struggled with both substance abuse and mental health issues after filing for divorce for the second time. In doing so, the former Saturday Night Live cast member requested sole physical custody of their son, Meredith Daniel Cox Mohr, born in 2011.

He also asked for joint legal custody, with Cox receiving “proper visitation with Meredith, which will be closely supervised.” The actor also claimed in the new filing that after filing divorce papers in December, he and his ex-wife “have continued to stay in the same house” with their child.

He did, however, say that their “living situation has grown exceedingly complex and terrible, and as a result, our baby is suffering.”

“I had no choice but to arrange another lodging for myself and our child owing to the escalating hatred in our residence, Nikki’s ongoing failure to treat her mental health issues…her drug addiction, and her inability to respect boundaries,” according to the filings.

Nikki Cox intended to commit suicide

In court records filed in March 2017, Mohr stated that Cox requested him repeatedly to bring her to the Universal Hilton, a hotel in Los Angeles so that she could commit herself.

Aside from that, the actor’s ex-wife, a well-known actress, allegedly came to the actor’s guest bedroom in the middle of the night, where he stayed while the couple was separated, and attempted to “seduce” him. She even told him she thought she was pregnant with another child, which she wasn’t.

“Nikki told me in January 2017 that she thought she was pregnant. Because I am azoospermic, this revelation meant that either a miracle had occurred, Nikki was pregnant by another man, or she was lying.

“She assured me it was mine,” stated the actor in a statement. Meanwhile, she made poor mothering decisions and was unconcerned about the couple’s child.

Despite living in the same house, she allegedly did not interact with her child for several days. Following various divorce papers and allegations against Cox, Mohr’s plea was allowed in August 2018. suppose the two parties are not in accord.
