Campbell has had prior encounters with the law. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail on May 30, 2014, as a result of a misdemeanor assault complaint and subsequent plea bargain regarding the altercation with a high school security guard.

The football star at the time was a junior who was 17 years old. He was arrested following an incident with his girlfriend during his senior year.

The Free Press was told by sources that Campbell had been seen striking his girlfriend.

After being taken into custody by police from the Detroit Public Schools, he was held at the Detroit Detention Center.

There, he continued his football career before moving as a junior to Ferris State. In January 2015, Campbell was freed from custody.

Cass Tech is one of the top prep recruits in the nation after having a stellar prep career at Detroit. In 2016, he helped Garden City Community College win an NJCAA National Championship.

In the previous season, he was responsible for more than 4,000 offensive yards.

He was directly involved in 49 of FSU’s offensive touchdowns from the previous season.
