When she was three years old, her father introduced her to tennis. When she was four years old, she began practicing in court. In October 1982, she competed in her first professional tournament. She retired in 1999, at the age of thirty.

Andre Agassi was a former world number one tennis player who won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics. Throughout his career, he won eight Grand Slam singles titles. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on 29 April 1970 to Mike Agassi, an Iranian Olympic boxer, and Elizabeth Agassi.

Philip Agassi, Rita Agassi, and Tami Agassi are his siblings. At the age of 16, he began his professional tennis career. On 3 September 2006, he announced his retirement from tennis.
