American actor Jeff Bridges claimed that getting COVID-19 while undergoing cancer treatment brought him “extremely close to death.”

“I was in danger of passing away. I kept hearing from the physicians, “Jeff, you have to fight.” You aren’t fighting. I was prepared to quit. I was ready to leave. Also, was having fun with my passing. I lacked any safeguards. Chemotherapy depletes your immune system, which is exactly what it does. I lacked something to fight it with. My cancer seemed minor because of COVID.

The actor’s medical team has successfully used convalescent plasma, a treatment that uses plasma from donors who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies to the virus. According to him, bridges gradually regained their strength and self-assurance.

When Jeff Bridges stated on Twitter in October 2020 that he had lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, he made the first public admission of his cancer diagnosis.

Although it is a dreadful ailment, I am fortunate to have a fantastic team of doctors and a good outlook. As the Dude would say, “New S**T has appeared.”

In a blog post on his website, Bridges claimed that his “9” x 12′′ tumors had shrunk to the size of a marble and that he has been cancer-free since September 2021.

I’m now twice immunized and feeling much better, but Covid kicked my a**.

In his most recent interview, Jeff Bridges expressed optimism about starting up again on the upcoming drama The Old Man.

“Who says, ‘I’d love some COVID and some cancer,'” you could ask. My ability to receive and give love, however, was merely improved. The dial had been turned up.

Bridges play Dan Chase, a former CIA agent who has spent decades living off the grid in hiding from his previous agency, in the FX crime series The Old Man, which is based on Thomas Perry’s 2017 thriller novel of the same name.

Chase has a tangled relationship with Harold Harper (John Lithgow), the FBI’s associate director for counterintelligence, and is on the run from him. On June 16th, FX will debut the series, which also stars Noor Razooky, Pej Vahdat, Faran Tahir, Iman Nazemzadeh, and Amy Brenneman.
