Jeff Wittek Files A Lawsuit Against David Dobrik For Causing

Jeff Wittek

According to TMZ, Dobrik is being sued for general negligence and intentional tort. Wittek suffered many wounds in an excavator accident in 2020, including fractures to his foot, hip, and ligaments in addition to several head fractures.

Wittek is currently seeking $10 million in compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and diminished earning capacity.

What went wrong in the marriage of Jeff Wittek and David Dobrik?

David Dobrik and Jeff Wittek took part in a joke for the former’s YouTube channel in 2020. The idea behind the practical joke was to pull people riding wakeboards with an excavator. As time passed, people started using a rope to help them in riding the excavator.

Wittek claimed that Dobrik overcorrected on his turn and accelerated the vehicle to the point where it appeared dangerous. As Dobrik realized his mistake, he stopped the truck right away, leading Wittek to crash heavily into the machine.

The incident, which almost permanently damaged one of his eyes, caused him to spend many weeks in the hospital. Wittek needed a lot of different procedures.

The two YouTubers’ friendship has been tense ever since. In a five-part YouTube series titled DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME, Wittek described his experience. He said that David Dobrik did not communicate with him after his initial hospitalization:

“I woke up following my procedure. He doesn’t text me for a day. A day goes by without receiving a text. As his Instagram is the first to display due to an algorithm or something, I check it. Yeah, I’m loving my life right now, he exclaims. He was only advertising his vlog when he said, “My vlogs and everything.”

Wittek asked Dobrik to come on his channel to give an explanation, and the two made an effort to make amends. Dobrik stated that it was an accident and not intentional throughout their talk. At the time, Wittek also declared that he would not press charges because the incident was an accident and not entirely Dobrik’s fault.

Wittek, on the other hand, declared in February 2022 that he had had enough of being Dobrik’s “fake buddy”. He appeared annoyed with Dobrik for not getting in touch with him following his operation. In fact, he said

Wittek appeared irritated by the remarks and declared that he would stop “slandering” Dobrik online and “let the court decide” instead. The YouTuber had never before brought up legal action. He added that Dobrik was making untrue claims and that he should own his mistakes in court documents.
