The Great Giveback, a new house renovation show on HGTV, has returned. Melissa McCarthy and her cousin’s sister Jenna Perusich will feature on the show as remodeling experts.
Melissa McCarthy and Jenna Perusich feature in The Great Giveback, which premieres on Monday, June 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The two “design-obsessed” ladies will appear in a new six-episode series, giving surprise modifications and makeovers to deserving families that have gone above and beyond to help others.

Jenna Perusich is an accomplished actress who has appeared in films such as Superintelligence, Thunder Force, and Cafe Americano. Her cousins are Melissa McCarthy and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg.
Perlich graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a theatrical degree and moved to Los Angeles around nine years ago to pursue a career in acting. She also went to Groundlings Theatre and School to enhance her skills.
Jenna enjoys I Love Lucy because “she [the protagonist] took risks, was an artist, and fought for what and who she believed in while remaining true to herself.” She has been a collector for a long time. Perusich explained to her I Love Lucy line to HGTV:
“You name it, I’ve got it: vintage dolls, lamps, throw blankets, jars, salt, and pepper shakers, you name it!” I started collecting in fifth grade and continued until high school when individuals gave me program-related trinkets for my birthday or Christmas.
A light shaped like a TV with the words “I Love Lucy” on it is one of my faves, as is a cookie jar with Lucy, Ricky, Ethel, and Fred going in a vintage automobile.”
Perusich likes 1980s rock and doo-wop music. Her all-time favorite songs are Be My Baby by the Ronettes and Alone by Heart from the 1980s. Dirty Dancing, on the other hand, is Perusich’s favorite film since it never fails to delight her with its music, drama, and dancing.
Perusich has a lot of respect for her parents, who have been married for 37 years. They have taught her a lot about art, design, fashion, and music.
She comes from a vast family, but she never met her cousin Melissa. When she moved to Los Angeles, the two became friends as adults. About her friendship with Melissa, she told HGTV:
“We didn’t grow up together because Melissa and I are 18 years apart in age.” When I moved to Los Angeles, we became friends, and Melissa has functioned as my mentor, providing vital professional guidance and help.”
Andrew, a television marketing professional, is Perusich’s boyfriend. During the outbreak, she met her partner through a dating app, and they had an “old-fashioned courting” because they couldn’t meet in person for a while and had to FaceTime instead.
Jenna Perusich was the inspiration for The Great Giveback
Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan pushed Jenna Perusich to plan The Great Giveback with Melissa. Melissa was asked to recommend a loved one for a house remodels on Celebrity IOU in 2020, marking their first HGTV participation.
They decided to renovate Perusich’s parents’ home. In response to a question regarding the Property Brothers, she stated:
“Drew and Jonathan is on the same ship. They will do everything well and with all of their hearts if they are to succeed. Nonetheless, they are not overly serious and know how to have fun.”
The sisters hope to have the same chemistry as the twin boys on the show. The Great Giveback, a new home remodeling series on HGTV, premieres on Monday, June 13. The show can also be found on Discovery+.
