Arrest and Charges for Jesse Garcia

People have been interested in learning more about Jesse Garcia’s arrest and charges.

The guy who is suspected of hurting three and shooting two San Antonio Police officers on Thursday was twice released from detention the year prior.

Jesse Garcia, 28, is currently facing eight brand-new charges, including aggravated assault on a public authority, aggravated robbery, and aggravated kidnapping. He is still being held at the Bexar County Jail with a $4.33 million bail.

Garcia is not a first-time prisoner; he has a long criminal history that dates back to his adolescent years. But recently, it’s been easier to get out.

Garcia was arrested in September 2022 on suspicion of drug possession and driving while intoxicated. However, he was released from custody after he posted a $17,000 bond.

He was arrested in June on suspicion of auto burglary, evading the police in a car, and possessing a pistol while a felon. He then posted further bonds, worth $40,000.

The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office did note that those sums had been raised, though. When Garcia’s bail bondsman lost contact with him following his June arrest, new warrants were filed at the beginning of August.

As SAPD officers tried to arrest Garcia on the warrants on Thursday night, Garcia allegedly turned his rifle on them.

Two officers were shot, according to the police, and are presently receiving medical attention at the hospital. Debris injured one additional individual, who has already been released.

The suspected shooter is currently where?

A guy who is suspected of shooting two police officers in San Antonio and injuring a third during a manhunt is scheduled to appear in court early on Wednesday morning.

Jesse Garcia, Jr., 28, was charged with five counts of aggravated assault on a public authority, two counts of aggravated robbery, and one act of aggravated kidnapping after the shooting on Thursday night.

Garcia opened fire on the officers in the 100 block of Oriental Avenue, southwest of downtown, as they attempted to arrest him on unfulfilled warrants.

At that moment, the driver of the car and the other police officer sitting in the passenger seat were struck by things. Garcia allegedly stole a car while his driver was being threatened with a gun.

Garcia then proceeded to the 2600 block of Westward on the West Side. There, he exited the vehicle, opened fire on the officers, and made his way to a unit in the Westwood Plaza Apartments, where he barricaded himself.

Another police officer was struck numerous times during the second round of gunfire. After several hours of tense negotiations, Garcia was placed under arrest.

Garcia has a criminal history that stretches back to his adolescence, according to documents. He was released from prison twice in the past year.

The defendant faces charges of narcotics possession, auto burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle, eluding arrest while driving, and felon in possession of a firearm.
