Jesse Watters, an American broadcaster, was chastised online for making derogatory remarks about immigrants.
The 44-year-old personality was joined by Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Jessica Tarlov, and Jeanna Pirro on the May 2 broadcast of Fox News roundtable discussion show The Five to debate reports that Texas Governor Greg Abbott is busing migrants to New York and other “Black-run cities.”
On May 1, New York City Mayor Eric Adams stated that Abbott had recently abandoned plans to continue busing illegal immigrants turned asylum seekers to New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and Washington, D.C., only to resume the “morally bankrupt” program.
On his Fox show, Jesse Watters said:
“The mayor here is complaining about a couple of thousand people, despite having more resources than any other city in the country?” That is ridiculous. On my way to work today, I saw an illegal immigrant family searching through the garbage for recyclables.”
Tarlov cut in and inquired:
“How did you come to know they were illegal?”
Jesse responded:
“I can tell you. I’m certain of it. You don’t want me to get involved because I’m from the city, but I can tell.”
Jesse Watters’ remarks sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning him for his callous remarks.

Jesse Watters’ claim that he could recognize an illegal immigrant because he is a “city guy” sparked outrage on Twitter. Several people called the presenter a racist and chastised him for his alleged ability to tell who is and isn’t an immigrant. Others compared him to Fox News’ former host Tucker Carlson and asked that Watters be treated similarly.
Jesse Watters then expressed his views on illegal immigration
Jesse went on to discuss illegal immigrants after making controversial statements on The Five, calling it the “saddest thing” to watch because they are unable to work in the country.
“They came here to work, but they can’t work here.” That is the point. You should be able to choose who comes into the country based on their needs. Bring in this type of person if you require it. But to simply say yes and come on in, and oh, you know, and now everyone is looking for a five-cent bottle. That is not the case. You can’t blame the Texas man for that.”
Watters delegated authority to Vice President Joe Biden, under whose administration border crossings have increased.
“There is one common denominator in all of this: Joe Biden.” It’s the equivalent of having a bad boss who doesn’t do his job. The team then begins pointing fingers and gossiping about the other person. However, if management simply did their job, everyone would be able to stay in their respective lanes. Texas could focus on Texas, while New York could focus on New York.”
Watters’ statement comes just days after Fox News allegedly fired Tucker Carlson following the discovery of a racist text message during the Dominion investigation. According to the New York Times, Carlson apparently said something in the text that was the deciding factor for Fox, praising a crowd for beating up a suspected Antifa member.
“Clearly, jumping someone like that is disgraceful. This is not how white men fight.”
As of this writing, Jesse Watters had not responded to the internet’s reaction to his inflammatory statements.
