The reporter was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 17, 1959. While still a college student, Nantz started his broadcasting career by working as a weekend sports anchor for KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He worked for many TV stations around the country after earning a degree in radio/television from Houston University before joining CBS Sports in 1985.

Nantz has covered some of the most important sporting events while working for CBS Sports.

Since 1989, he has served as the Master’s Tournament anchor for CBS, where his calming voice and extensive golf expertise have made him a fan favorite.
